Magnetic folding machines use magnetic force to bend and form sheet metal. Unlike traditional folding machines that rely on mechanical pressure, magnetic folders generate a strong magnetic field that securely holds the metal in place while it is bent into various shapes.
This system allows users to work with a high degree of flexibility, as adjusting the machine for different bending operations is quick and easy. The key advantage of this technology lies in its ability to produce complex parts without the limitations of traditional mechanical pressure systems.
Our models and specifications
JÖRG offers a variety of magnetic folding machines designed to meet a wide range of industrial needs. Each model stands out for its working width and capacity. Our magnetic folders are available in working widths from 1000 mm to 3200 mm, and can handle up to 1.6 mm thick mild steel (St.37).
These machines are ergonomic, versatile, and easy to operate. A wide range of materials can be bent with them, including steel, aluminium, copper, stainless steel, and lead.
All models are equipped with a simple back gauge, a variety of rulers, a support table, and foot pedal operation. Magnetic folders are suitable for many types of bends, including standard straight bends, boxes with unlimited height, closed profiles, tall U-shapes, and even radius bending.
Advantages of our magnetic folding machines
JÖRG’s magnetic folders offer several advantages over traditional folding machines. They can easily form complex shapes such as tall, narrow U-profiles, closed box sections, and boxes with high edges. The clamping beam can be easily removed and replaced. The unique hinge system allows the bending beam to have completely open ends, so longer workpieces can be slid through—making partial or asymmetrical bends possible.
The ability to deliver uniform clamping pressure across the full bending line results in sharper, more accurate bends. Without mechanical limitations, a single setup can accommodate multiple bend shapes, reducing changeover times and increasing overall productivity. In addition, the magnetic system reduces mechanical stress on the machine, resulting in less wear and longer service intervals.
